Do Germany passport holders need a visa to visit AZ?

German passport holders need a visa for Azerbaijan, but can apply quickly online for the official ASAN e-Visa (single entry, up to 30 days). No embassy visit required. Germany is not part of Azerbaijan's visa-free regime, so a German ordinary-passport holder cannot enter for tourism without a visa. The convenient route is Azerbaijan's official electronic visa, the ASAN Visa, applied for at evisa.gov.az. It is a single-entry visa allowing a stay of up to 30 days. The standard fee is USD 25 plus a USD 5 service fee (USD 30 total), processed within 3 working days; an urgent option costs USD 60 plus the USD 5 service fee (USD 65 total) and is processed within 3 hours. The passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the visa's expiry. Germans may alternatively apply for a sticker visa at the Azerbaijan Embassy/Consulate (single or multiple entry, EUR 35), but for a short tourist trip the e-Visa is faster and recommended. Travelers staying more than 15 days must register with the State Migration Service (hotels usually handle this).
