Chinese ordinary passport holders need a visa for Uganda. The standard route is the official online eVisa: a single-entry tourist eVisa costs USD 50, allows a stay of up to 90 days, and must be applied for in advance at visas.immigration.go.ug. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory. Uganda is not visa-free for Chinese (CN) ordinary passport holders, and China is not among Uganda's visa-exempt nationalities. Since 1 July 2016 Uganda has operated an electronic visa system, and applications must be lodged in advance through the official Uganda Electronic Visa/Permit Application System (visas.immigration.go.ug). For a short tourist trip the relevant product is the Ordinary (Tourist) single-entry eVisa at USD 50, granting a stay of up to 90 days; the eVisa authorization is valid for entry within 90 days of approval. Travelers planning a regional trip can instead apply for the East Africa Tourist Visa (USD 100, multiple entry across Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda for 90 days). A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry, and the passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Travelers should use ONLY the official government portal, as numerous fraudulent third-party sites charge inflated fees (USD 110-200). As of 2026-05-30, multiple sources (Uganda Directorate of Citizenship & Immigration Control, Uganda Embassy, and Wikipedia visa policy) confirm the eVisa requirement and USD 50 tourist fee.
