Chinese ordinary passport holders need an e-Visa to enter Ukraine for tourism. China is on Ukraine's e-Visa eligible list (relaunched February 17, 2025). Apply online at evisa.mfa.gov.ua for a single-entry 30-day visa (USD 20). Note: Ukraine is under martial law, civilian air travel is suspended, and entry is only via land borders from the EU and Moldova. As of 2026-05-31, a Chinese (PRC) ordinary passport holder requires a visa to visit Ukraine for tourism and is eligible for the electronic visa (e-Visa). Ukraine cancelled China's short-lived visa exemption on 31 January 2021, and there is no current visa-free or visa-on-arrival channel for Chinese citizens. Ukraine relaunched its e-Visa program on 17 February 2025, with China among the eligible countries. The e-Visa is issued as a single-entry (USD 20) or double-entry (USD 30) permit for tourism, business, private, medical, cultural, scientific, educational, sports, or media purposes, allowing a stay of up to 30 days. Standard processing is 3 business days; urgent processing (1 business day) is available for double the fee. Applications are submitted exclusively online at evisa.mfa.gov.ua; no consulate visit is required. Critical context: Ukraine remains under martial law due to the ongoing war. Civilian air traffic is suspended, so entry must be made overland from EU member states or Moldova (or certain seaports). Travelers must carry a passport valid at least 6 months, medical insurance covering at least EUR 30,000 (ideally including war-risk coverage), and proof of funds and travel purpose. Many governments, including China, advise against travel to Ukraine. Conservatively, the verdict is e-Visa required.
