Chinese ordinary passport holders need a visa for Sudan, obtained in advance from a Sudanese embassy or consulate (the Embassy of Sudan in Beijing). Critically, Sudan is in active civil war as of 2026; China and most governments advise against all travel, Khartoum airport service is severely disrupted, and tourist visas are effectively not being issued. Sudan grants visa-free access to only a handful of Arab states (Egypt, Kuwait, UAE, Yemen, Qatar); China is not among them, and only Chinese diplomatic/official/service passport holders are exempt. The official Embassy of Sudan and the published Sudan visa policy do not confirm an eVisa or visa-on-arrival channel for Chinese ordinary passport holders, so a paper visa must be secured in advance from a Sudanese diplomatic mission (Embassy of Sudan in Beijing). Standard documentation includes a passport valid 6+ months with blank pages, application form, photo, proof of onward travel, sufficient funds, and typically a sponsor/invitation or confirmed itinerary; consular fees are roughly USD 100-150 with processing up to 10 working days. Overriding all of this, Sudan has been in full-scale armed conflict between the SAF and RSF since April 2023 and remains so in 2026. China's MFA and Western governments (US, UK, Canada, Australia) advise against all travel; Khartoum International Airport operates only limited traffic and Port Sudan airport is subject to drone attacks. In practice, tourist visas are not being issued and tourism travel is not viable. Real travelers should treat Sudan as closed to tourism and consult the Sudan embassy in Beijing and China's MFA before any travel.
