Chinese ordinary passport holders can travel to the Solomon Islands visa-free for tourism. Under the China-Solomon Islands mutual visa exemption agreement (in force since 28 December 2024), you may enter without a visa for up to 30 days per visit, with a cumulative limit of 90 days within any 180-day period. As of 2026, holders of Chinese ordinary passports do not need a visa to visit the Solomon Islands for short tourist stays. This follows the "Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Solomon Islands on Mutual Visa Exemption for Citizens Holding Ordinary Passports," which entered into force on 28 December 2024 and is confirmed on the official website of the Chinese Embassy in the Solomon Islands. Under the agreement, Chinese ordinary-passport tourists may enter, exit and transit visa-free for a single stay of up to 30 days, with cumulative stays not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period. On arrival, immigration officers issue a visitor permit at no charge. Travelers must still meet standard entry conditions: a passport valid at least six months beyond intended departure with blank pages, a confirmed return or onward ticket, and evidence of sufficient funds. Stays beyond 30 days per visit, beyond the 90/180-day cumulative cap, or trips for work, study, residence or journalism require an appropriate visa obtained in advance from the Solomon Islands Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration. Before the December 2024 agreement, Chinese nationals relied on a visitor permit issued on arrival; the new arrangement formalizes reciprocal visa-free travel.
