As of 31 May 2026, Chinese ordinary passport holders need a visa for tourism in Cambodia. The easiest official route is the eVisa (Type T) from evisa.gov.kh: USD 30, single entry, up to 30 days, valid 3 months. Visa on arrival (USD 30) is also available at major airports and land borders. Note: a temporary visa-free pilot for Chinese citizens runs 15 June to 15 October 2026 (14-day stays, multiple entries) - but it has not started yet, so a visa is required for trips before 15 June 2026. All air arrivals must also file the free Cambodia e-Arrival card within 7 days before arrival. Cambodia does not grant year-round visa-free entry to Chinese ordinary passport holders. For a short tourist visit the recommended channel is the official electronic visa (eVisa Type T) at evisa.gov.kh, costing USD 30 for a single entry and a stay of up to 30 days, with the eVisa valid for 3 months from issue and approval typically within about 3 working days. Travelers who prefer can instead obtain a tourist visa on arrival (USD 30) at the three international airports and main land borders, though queues can add 15-45 minutes. A significant recent development: in December 2025/January 2026 Cambodia announced a four-month visa-exemption PILOT for Chinese (and Hong Kong/Macao) passport holders, allowing visa-free stays of 14 days with multiple entries from 15 June to 15 October 2026, with no application or fee. However, today's date (31 May 2026) falls before that window opens, so a Chinese tourist arriving now still requires a visa - hence the conservative verdict of eVisa. Regardless of visa channel, since September 2024 every air arrival must submit the free Cambodia e-Arrival card (immigration, customs and health declaration) within 7 days before arrival at arrival.gov.kh; this is not a visa and does not replace one. Passports must be valid at least 6 months with one blank page.
