Chinese ordinary passport holders need a visa for Kyrgyzstan, and the standard route is the official e-Visa applied for online before travel. There is no general visa-free or visa-on-arrival channel for mainland Chinese tourists. As of 2026, holders of an ordinary Chinese (PRC) passport require a visa to enter Kyrgyzstan for tourism. The visa exemption agreement between China and Kyrgyzstan only covers diplomatic and service/official passports, not ordinary tourist passports. The recommended and most convenient option for tourists is the official Kyrgyzstan e-Visa, applied for through the government portal at evisa.e-gov.kg before travel. The tourist e-Visa is typically issued as a single-entry document valid for up to 30 days, with processing of about 5 working days. A limited conditional 7-day visa-free entry exists only for travelers arriving at Manas International Airport who hold a long-term (3+ year) US, UK, Schengen, or Ireland visa, or who purchase a USD 500 voucher plus hold a return ticket; this is a narrow exception and not a general tourist channel. Hong Kong and Macao SAR residents enjoy separate 30-day visa-free access, but this does not apply to mainland ordinary passport holders. Travelers should default to obtaining an e-Visa.
