Do Canada passport holders need a visa to visit ZM?

Canadian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist visits to Zambia. They can enter visa-free for up to 90 days per calendar year. Note that immigration officers may grant only 30 days at the border, extendable at a Zambian immigration office. Zambia exempts Canadian citizens (ordinary, official and diplomatic passports, plus Canadian Travel Document holders) from visa requirements, a policy in effect since 3 November 2022. The Government of Canada's official travel advisory confirms that no tourist visa is required for stays up to 90 days per calendar year. Zambia is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers should note an important practical caveat: although the entitlement is up to 90 days within a 12-month period, immigration officials at the port of entry frequently stamp only 30 days, and the balance may need to be requested via extension at the nearest Zambian immigration office or the e-Services portal. Passports must be valid at least 6 months beyond the intended departure date and carry sufficient blank pages (Canada's advisory recommends at least 3). A return/onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds may be requested. Travelers visiting both Zambia and Zimbabwe (e.g. for Victoria Falls) can alternatively use the KAZA Univisa, a paid regional tourist visa, but it is optional for Canadians since they already enter Zambia visa-free.
