Canadian passport holders can visit Vanuatu visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism. A free visitor permit is stamped on arrival at Port Vila (Bauerfield) or Santo (Pekoa) airports. On arrival at an international airport (Bauerfield/Port Vila or Pekoa/Santo), immigration officers stamp a free visitor permit valid for up to 30 days. There is no application form, no fee, and no pre-approval at the counter. The Government of Canada's official travel page confirms "visa not required" for stays up to 30 days. To enter, your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure, and you should be ready to show a confirmed onward or return ticket, proof of sufficient funds, and accommodation details. Stays can be extended in-country up to a total of 120 days by applying to the Department of Immigration in Port Vila before the initial permit expires (a tourist extension fee of about 7,420 VUV applies). Vanuatu is a South Pacific island nation and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
