Do Canada passport holders need a visa to visit UZ?

Canadian ordinary passport holders can visit Uzbekistan visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism. No visa or e-visa is required for short stays. Since 1 February 2019, Uzbekistan grants Canadian ordinary passport holders visa-free entry for stays of up to 30 days for tourism, transit, and business. No advance visa, e-visa, or visa-on-arrival is needed for trips within this window. The Government of Canada's official travel advisory confirms a tourist visa is "not required for stays of up to 30 days." Your passport should be valid for at least six months from your date of entry and have a blank page for the entry stamp. The main administrative obligation is registration: any foreign visitor staying more than three days must be registered at their place of stay within 72 hours of arrival. Hotels, hostels, and licensed accommodations handle this automatically at check-in and issue a registration slip you should keep until departure. Travelers in private accommodation (e.g., staying with friends or in non-registered rentals) must register themselves online through the official e-mehmon.uz portal. If you plan to stay longer than 30 days, or for work/study, you must obtain an e-visa or a regular visa in advance. Uzbekistan is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180-day rule and ETIAS do not apply. As of 30 May 2026 the 30-day visa-free arrangement for Canadian citizens remains in force and unchanged.
