Canadian passport holders need a visa for Togo. The official route is the Togo e-Visa, applied for online at voyage.gouv.tg before travel. Visa-on-arrival is suspended. A Canadian ordinary-passport holder traveling to Togo for tourism is not visa-exempt. The Togolese government's official travel platform (voyage.gouv.tg) lists Canada among nationalities that require a visa and now issues an electronic visa (e-Visa) that must be obtained online before departure. Visa-on-arrival and express visas at land and air borders are explicitly suspended. The standard tourist e-Visa for a short visit (1-15 days, single entry) costs 25,000 CFA francs, with higher tiers for multiple entries (35,000 CFA) or longer stays up to 90 days (45,000-65,000 CFA). Processing takes a maximum of 5 working days, and applications must be submitted at least 6 working days before arrival to avoid surcharges. Payment is by Visa/Mastercard or mobile money (TMoney/Flooz); cash is not accepted. Travelers must also complete the mandatory online immigration declaration (bordereau d'immigration) no later than 24 hours before arrival, hold a passport valid for at least 6 months, and carry proof of yellow fever vaccination, which is required for entry to Togo. There is no Schengen consideration: Togo is in West Africa and is not part of the Schengen area.
