Do Canada passport holders need a visa to visit PE?

No visa required. Canadian ordinary passport holders can enter Peru for tourism visa-free. The standard stay granted is up to 90 days, and immigration officers may grant up to 183 days per 365-day period. A Canadian citizen holding an ordinary passport does not need a visa to visit Peru for tourism or short business visits. Entry is granted on arrival as a tourist (Tarjeta Andina de Migracion / Andean Migration Card). The maximum stay is determined by the immigration officer at the port of entry: most travelers receive up to 90 days, and officers can grant up to 183 days within any 365-day period. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival. At airports, entry and exit are recorded digitally rather than stamped, while land borders issue a physical entry stamp. Travelers should keep proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds, as immigration may request these. Stays cannot normally be extended beyond the granted period, and overstaying is treated as a criminal offence carrying a daily fine payable on departure. This visa-free arrangement is confirmed by the Embassy of Peru in Canada and the Government of Canada travel advisory as of May 2026. Peru is in South America and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
