Canadian passport holders do not need a visa to visit Haiti for tourism and may stay up to 90 days. A small US$10 tourist card fee is collected on arrival at the airport. A Canadian ordinary passport holder can travel to Haiti for tourism without obtaining a visa in advance. Both the Government of Canada travel advisory and the Embassy of Haiti confirm that tourists are visa-exempt for stays of up to 90 days. The only entry charge is a US$10 tourist card (arrival) fee paid at the airport on entry; this applies to all non-Haitian travelers. Passports should be valid for the duration of the stay (the Embassy recommends at least 6 months of validity). Travelers may be asked to show a return or onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds. Haiti is in the Caribbean and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so no ETIAS or Schengen 90/180 rule applies. Stays beyond 90 days require a residency permit from the Haitian Immigration Service, applied for before the initial 90 days expire (Canadians of Haitian origin are exempt). Important safety note: the Government of Canada currently maintains an "Avoid all travel" advisory for Haiti due to widespread gang violence, kidnappings, and civil unrest; the visa-free status does not reflect on-the-ground safety. Verdict: visa-free for short tourist stays.
