Do Canada passport holders need a visa to visit GT?
Canadian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Guatemala. You receive a visa-free entry stamp on arrival for up to 90 days. You must also complete the free online Regional Traveler Affidavit (DJRV) before you arrive. A Canadian citizen holding an ordinary passport may enter Guatemala visa-free for tourism and business for up to 90 days. The 90-day allowance operates within the Central America-4 (CA-4) framework, which Guatemala shares with El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua: the 90 days counts cumulatively across all four countries, not per country. An immigration officer stamps your passport on arrival; failure to obtain an entry stamp can lead to fines and exit delays. Before travelling, all arriving passengers must complete the free electronic Regional Traveler Affidavit (Declaracion Jurada Regional de Viajero, DJRV) and present the resulting QR code. The passport should be valid for at least six months and have a blank page, and travellers should carry proof of onward or return travel. Stays may be extended to a maximum of 180 days through the Guatemalan Migration Institute; to reset the 90-day clock you must leave the CA-4 zone entirely (e.g. to Mexico or Belize). Guatemala is in Central America and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen/ETIAS rules do not apply.
