Do Canada passport holders need a visa to visit EC?

No visa required. Canadian ordinary passport holders can enter Ecuador visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 12-month period, receiving a T-3 tourist stamp on arrival. Canadian citizens holding an ordinary passport do not need a visa to visit Ecuador for tourism. On arrival they are granted a T-3 tourist stamp permitting a stay of up to 90 days within a rolling 12-month period (counted from the first entry date), with no advance application, no fee, and no eVisa or ETA. The passport must be valid (Ecuador requires validity for the duration of stay; six months beyond arrival is widely recommended and asked for by some carriers/officials). The 90-day permit can be extended once for a further 90 days by applying to Ecuadorian immigration before the initial stamp expires. Travelers should ensure an entry stamp is physically placed in the passport at the port of entry, as missing stamps cause serious problems on departure. Ecuador is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. A June 2025 Ecuadorian measure introduced transit visas only for nationalities that already require a visa to enter Ecuador, which does not affect Canadians. Overstaying can lead to fines and a one-year entry ban.
