Do Canada passport holders need a visa to visit CM?
Yes - Canadian passport holders need a visa for Cameroon, and as of 2026 it must be obtained online as an eVisa through the official portal evisacam.cm before travel. There is no visa-free entry and no visa-on-arrival. A Canadian ordinary passport holder requires a visa to visit Cameroon for tourism. Since the Cameroonian government made the electronic visa mandatory (rolled out from 30 April 2023 and strictly enforced through 2026), all entry visas must be applied for online via the official Consular Services Portal at www.evisacam.cm - applications submitted outside this platform are not accepted. The traveler creates an account, completes the form, uploads documents, and pays online by card or mobile money. The application is processed by the geographically competent Cameroonian diplomatic mission (for Canada, the High Commission in Ottawa) and an electronic visa authorization with a QR code is emailed once approved. Final biometric enrolment and visa printing are completed either at the consular post or at the Cameroonian port of entry. Normal processing is within 72 hours of payment; an express option is available in about 24 hours. The short-stay tourist visa permits stays of up to 90 days and the authorization is valid for up to 180 days, available as single or multiple entry. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for all travelers, and the passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the planned departure from Cameroon. Cameroon is in Central Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
