Do Canada passport holders need a visa to visit BZ?
Canadian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Belize. You are admitted visa-free for up to 30 days at the port of entry. You must complete the free online iDeclare travel declaration before arrival, and pay departure/exit fees when you leave (cash, USD). A Canada (CA) ordinary passport holder may travel to Belize for tourism without a visa. Belize's Immigration Department lists Canada among the visa-exempt nationalities, granting a stay of up to 30 days for visits not exceeding that period. This is confirmed by both the Belize Immigration Department (immigration.gov.bz) and the Government of Canada travel advisory (travel.gc.ca). No eVisa, ETA, or visa-on-arrival is required for short tourist stays. Travelers must complete the mandatory online iDeclare immigration and customs declaration before entering (and exiting) Belize. At entry, officers may ask for an onward/return ticket and proof of sufficient funds. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended departure date. The main unavoidable cost is the departure/exit fee, paid in cash (US dollars) when leaving: roughly US$73.50 total by air (often already bundled into airfare) or about US$20 (BZ$40) at land borders. Stays longer than 30 days require a Visitor's Permit extension from a Belize immigration office; overstaying can lead to fines, detention, or deportation. Belize is in Central America and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
