Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit TL?
Brazilian ordinary passport holders are NOT visa-exempt for Timor-Leste, but can obtain a 30-day single-entry tourist Visa on Arrival (USD 30) at Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili. Entry by land border requires a pre-approved Visa Application Authorization arranged in advance. As of 2026, Brazil is not on Timor-Leste's visa-exemption list (which is limited to Portugal, Indonesia, and a handful of mostly Asian states). For tourism, a Brazilian citizen arriving by air at Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport (Dili) or at the Dili Sea Port may obtain a Tourist & Business Visa on Arrival: USD 30, single entry, valid for a stay of up to 30 days, extendable once for a further 30 days if applied for at least 15 days before expiry. Requirements include a passport valid at least 6 months with a blank page, a completed arrival card, an onward/return ticket, proof of accommodation, and sufficient funds (the immigration service references around USD 150 per day). The USD 30 fee must be paid in US dollars cash, as card facilities are unreliable at the border. Travelers entering overland (e.g., from Indonesian West Timor) cannot get a visa on arrival and must instead obtain a Visa Application Authorization in advance from the Immigration Service of Timor-Leste before traveling. No eVisa/ETA system exists for general tourists, and Timor-Leste is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
