Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit TJ?
Brazilian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Tajikistan, but they can apply online for an e-Visa instead of visiting an embassy. Brazil is on Tajikistan's e-Visa eligible list (it is NOT on the 52-country unilateral visa-free list). The single-entry tourist e-Visa costs USD 30 and allows a stay of up to 60 days within a 90-day validity window. Tajikistan introduced a 30-day unilateral visa-free regime for citizens of 52 countries from 1 January 2022, but Brazil — like most Latin American countries — was not included on that list. Brazilian ordinary passport holders are instead covered by Tajikistan's simplified electronic visa (e-Visa) system, operated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at evisa.tj. The tourist/business e-Visa is issued single-entry for USD 30 or multiple-entry for USD 50, permits a maximum stay of 60 days, and must be used within a 90-day validity window from the chosen entry date. It can be used at any official border crossing. Travelers heading to the Pamirs (Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast, GBAO) must add a GBAO permit for an extra USD 20, selectable during the same online application. One secondary source ambiguously labels Brazil "visa not required / eVisa," but this conflicts with the official MFA visa-free country list, which does not include Brazil; the verified, reliable channel is therefore the e-Visa. Anyone staying longer than 10 days should also be aware of registration obligations, though e-Visa holders are generally exempt from separate OVIR registration for short tourist stays. The passport must be valid for at least six months.

For guidance only — visa rules change with little notice. Always confirm directly with the destination's embassy or foreign ministry before booking non-refundable travel. Information here applies to ordinary (non-diplomatic) passports unless noted.
