Brazilian ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Nigeria for tourism, and since 1 May 2025 this must be obtained online as a Nigeria e-Visa before travel. Visa-on-arrival has been discontinued, so you must apply and be approved before boarding. Nigeria does not grant visa-free entry to Brazilian citizens. Effective 1 May 2025, Nigeria replaced its visa-on-arrival scheme with a fully electronic e-Visa system administered by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). A Brazilian ordinary passport holder traveling for tourism must register on the official NIS e-Visa portal, complete the application, upload documents (passport bio page, photo, return ticket, hotel/accommodation proof, bank statements/proof of funds), pay the fees online and receive approval by email, typically within 24-48 hours. The single-entry tourism e-Visa allows a stay of up to 30 days, is non-extendable, prohibits employment, and must be used within 90 days of issuance. Separately, all travelers must complete the mandatory online Nigeria Landing Card before arrival (and an Exit Card on departure), a requirement also in force since May 2025. Because no confirmed visa-free or visa-on-arrival channel exists for Brazil, the correct verdict is e-Visa (pre-arrival electronic visa required).
