Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit LK?

Brazilian (ordinary passport) tourists need a Sri Lanka Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before travel. Brazil is NOT among the 40 nationalities granted free ETA (effective 25 May 2026), so Brazilians pay the standard US$50 Tourist ETA fee for a 30-day, double-entry stay. As of 2026-05-30, a Brazil ordinary passport holder cannot enter Sri Lanka visa-free. Sri Lanka requires an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for tourism, obtained online before departure via the official portal eta.gov.lk. On 25 May 2026 Sri Lanka made the Tourist ETA free for citizens of 40 selected nationalities, but Brazil is not on that list. Brazilian travelers therefore pay the standard Tourist ETA processing fee of US$50 (online) or US$60 if obtained on arrival. The standard Tourist ETA grants a stay of up to 30 days from first arrival with double entry. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the arrival date, and travelers should hold proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds. Sri Lanka is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. Online approval is typically fast (often within a few days, with applications advised at least several days ahead); applying online in advance is strongly recommended over the more expensive on-arrival option to avoid airport delays.
