Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit GE?
Brazilian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Georgia. They may enter and stay visa-free for up to 365 days (1 year) per entry for tourism, business, or visiting. As of January 1, 2026, all visitors must hold valid travel medical insurance with minimum coverage of 30,000 GEL. Brazil is on Georgia's most generous visa-exemption tier: citizens holding any valid Brazilian passport may enter without a visa and remain for up to 365 consecutive days (one full year) for tourism, business, transit, study, or visiting family. No advance application, eVisa, registration, or visa-on-arrival is needed; travelers simply present a valid passport at the border. Georgia is NOT in the Schengen Area and NOT in the EU, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here. The single material change for 2026 is a universal entry requirement: from January 1, 2026, every foreign visitor (including all visa-free nationals such as Brazilians) must carry proof of travel medical/accident insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 GEL (roughly USD 11,000), presentable on paper or electronically in Georgian or English, and may be asked to show it at the border. The visa-free status itself is unchanged. The clock resets on exit and re-entry, making Georgia popular with long-stay travelers and digital nomads. Travelers should still carry standard supporting documents (return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation and funds) as a border officer may request them.
