Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit BF?

Brazilian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Burkina Faso, and the recommended route for a short tourist stay is the official online eVisa at visaburkina.bf. There is no visa-free entry for ordinary passports (only diplomatic, official and service passports are exempt). Visa on arrival is granted only in exceptional cases and should not be relied on. As of 31 May 2026, a Brazil ordinary passport holder requires a visa to enter Burkina Faso for tourism. Burkina Faso has run an official eVisa system since 17 August 2023 (visaburkina.bf), which is the practical and recommended channel; applications, document uploads and fee payment are all completed online. Only Brazilian diplomatic, official and service passport holders are visa-exempt, so ordinary passport tourists must obtain an eVisa (or a consular visa from a Burkinabe diplomatic mission). Visa on arrival technically exists but is now issued only in specific exceptional circumstances and is unreliable for planning. The short-term tourist visa cannot exceed 90 days, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry. Travelers should also note that Burkina Faso has significant security risks; many foreign ministries advise against travel to large parts of the country.
