Do Australia passport holders need a visa to visit UZ?

Australian ordinary passport holders can visit Uzbekistan visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days. No visa or e-visa is required for short stays. As of 30 May 2026, holders of an ordinary Australian passport do not need a visa to enter Uzbekistan for tourism or short visits of up to 30 days. Australia is on Uzbekistan's unilateral visa-free list (introduced as part of Uzbekistan's tourism-opening reforms). You enter on a passport that is valid for at least six months and can show proof of onward/return travel. The 30-day allowance is per entry and is not extendable as a tourist without leaving and re-entering. If your total stay reaches three days or more (weekends included), you must be registered with the local migration authorities for each city where you stay; hotels and licensed accommodation do this automatically and issue a registration slip, but you remain legally responsible for ensuring it is done. An e-visa exists (single entry USD 20, double USD 35, multiple USD 50) but is only needed if you plan to stay longer than 30 days, need multiple entries beyond what visa-free allows, or are travelling on a non-ordinary passport. For a standard tourist trip, no payment or online application is required. Note there is no Australian embassy in Uzbekistan; consular help is via the Australian Embassy in Moscow.
