Australian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Togo for tourism. It must be applied for online at the official portal (voyage.gouv.tg) and approved before travel; visa-on-arrival was abolished on 12 April 2024. A valid yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for all travelers. As of 2026, Australian ordinary passport holders cannot enter Togo without a visa and can no longer obtain one on arrival. Togo discontinued its "express" visa-on-arrival service on 12 April 2024, replacing it with a mandatory pre-arrival eVisa applied for through the government portal at voyage.gouv.tg. The standard short tourist eVisa is a single-entry document valid for up to 15 days, costing 25,000 CFA francs (about USD 40); longer-duration and multiple-entry options are available at higher prices. Applications must be submitted at least 5 working days before travel (the portal recommends 6+ working days, and Togo's Ministry of Security advises a 7-day minimum); late applications may incur a surcharge. Required documents include a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the stay with 2 blank pages, a digital photo, the passport bio page scan, accommodation proof, and a return/onward ticket. A WHO yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for all arrivals over one year old, and entry will be refused without it. ECOWAS citizens are visa-exempt, but Australians are not, so the eVisa is required for every Australian tourist.
