Do Australia passport holders need a visa to visit GT?
No visa needed. Australian ordinary passport holders get a free 90-day visa-free entry stamp for tourism in Guatemala. Australian ordinary passport holders do not need a visa for tourism or short visits to Guatemala. On arrival you receive a free entry stamp granting up to 90 days. Guatemala is part of the CA-4 border control agreement with Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua, so the 90 days is shared across all four countries combined, not 90 days per country. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from the date of entry with a blank page, and you may be asked for proof of onward travel and accommodation. The stay can be extended once for a further 90 days at the Guatemalan Immigration Institute (IGM) in Guatemala City for about USD 25 (paid in quetzals). A yellow fever certificate is required only if arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. Guatemala is in Central America and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen/ETIAS rules do not apply.
