Cameroon does not grant visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to Australian ordinary passport holders for tourism. Since 2023 Cameroon operates an official electronic visa system through the government portal evisacam.cm, which is the standard channel for Australians. Applicants complete the online form, upload a passport bio-page, photo, proof of accommodation/return travel, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory for all travellers), then pay the government fee online. After approval, travellers present the eVisa approval at a port of entry where biometrics are captured and the visa sticker is issued. The short-stay tourist eVisa typically permits stays up to 30 days and is valid for entry over a short window; standard government processing is generally several working days, but travellers should apply at least 2 weeks ahead. Beware of numerous unofficial third-party sites that add large service fees on top of the government charge. Cameroon is in Central Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
