Do Australia passport holders need a visa to visit AZ?
Australian passport holders need an e-visa to visit Azerbaijan for tourism. There is no visa-free entry and no visa on arrival. Apply online via the official ASAN Visa portal (evisa.gov.az) before travel for a single-entry stay of up to 30 days. Australia is not on Azerbaijan's visa-free or visa-on-arrival list, so an Australian ordinary passport holder must obtain a visa in advance. The standard route is the electronic ASAN Visa, applied for entirely online at the official portal evisa.gov.az. The e-visa is single-entry, allows a stay of up to 30 days, and is valid for use within 90 days of issue. The state fee is USD 20, plus a USD 5 service fee for standard processing (about 3 business days) or a higher service fee for urgent processing (issued within 3 hours). The passport should be valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure and have a blank page. Travelers who stay more than 15 calendar days must register their place of stay with the State Migration Service on arrival (usually handled by hotels). Azerbaijan is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.

For guidance only — visa rules change with little notice. Always confirm directly with the destination's embassy or foreign ministry before booking non-refundable travel. Information here applies to ordinary (non-diplomatic) passports unless noted.
