Do Australia passport holders need a visa to visit AM?
Australian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Armenia. They can enter and stay visa-free for up to 180 days within any one-year period for tourism or short visits. Armenia unilaterally exempts Australian citizens from visa requirements. Holders of an ordinary Australian passport may enter Armenia without a visa and stay for up to 180 days within any one calendar year, for tourism, business or transit. This is confirmed by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which lists Australia among the countries granted unilateral visa-free entry. No advance application, eVisa or visa-on-arrival is required. Armenia is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply; the 180-day allowance is Armenia's own domestic rule. Travelers should still hold a passport valid for the duration of their stay (six months' validity beyond the stay is recommended), and may be asked for proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds at the border. An eVisa exists for nationalities that need one and is optional for Australians, but it is unnecessary. Verdict: visa-free.
