🇦🇹奥地利(Austria)🇮🇸冰岛(Iceland)AT-IS 奥地利(Austria) 前往 冰岛(Iceland) 签证要求
Austrian passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Iceland. As EU/EEA citizens they enjoy full freedom of movement and may enter, stay, and travel in Iceland with no time limit on tourist visits using either a valid Austrian passport or national ID card (Personalausweis). Iceland is a member of both the Schengen Area and the European Economic Area (EEA). Austria is an EU member state, so Austrian citizens hold EEA freedom-of-movement rights. This means an Austrian ordinary passport holder needs no visa to travel to Iceland for tourism and is not bound by the Schengen 90/180-day short-stay limit that applies to non-EU/EEA visitors (that cap only governs third-country nationals). Austrians may enter Iceland on a valid passport or on the Austrian national ID card; both are accepted by Icelandic border authorities. Importantly, the upcoming ETIAS travel authorisation (expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026) does NOT apply to EU/EEA citizens, including Austrians, and the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), operational since 12 October 2025, registers only non-EU/EEA nationals. Stays in Iceland longer than three months require registration with Registers Iceland (an EEA registration, not a visa). For ordinary short tourist visits, no application, fee, or pre-authorisation is required.
