🇦🇹奥地利(Austria)🇬🇪格鲁吉亚(Georgia)AT-GE 奥地利(Austria) 前往 格鲁吉亚(Georgia) 签证要求
No visa is required. As an EU citizen, an Austrian ordinary passport holder can enter Georgia visa-free and stay for up to one year (365 days). Since 1 January 2026, all visitors must carry valid travel health insurance covering the entire stay. Austrian ordinary passport holders enjoy one of the world's most generous visa-free regimes in Georgia. As citizens of an EU member state, Austrians may enter Georgia without a visa and remain for up to 365 days (one year) per stay, for tourism, business, or transit. Entry is permitted on a valid Austrian passport, and EU citizens may also enter on an EU national identity card. Georgia is NOT part of the Schengen area or the EU, so time spent in Georgia does not count against the Schengen 90/180 short-stay allowance, and no ETIAS authorization is needed to enter Georgia. The most important recent change is operational rather than visa-related: effective 1 January 2026, every foreign visitor — including visa-exempt EU travelers — must hold valid health/accident insurance with minimum coverage of 30,000 GEL for the full duration of the stay, presentable in Georgian or English (paper or electronic) at the border. Travelers without it may be fined (around 300 GEL) or refused entry. The 2025 tightening of visa-free rules announced by Georgia applied to a specific list of 17 mostly non-EU nationalities and does NOT affect Austrian or other EU citizens, whose 1-year visa-free entitlement remains intact. Standard good practice still applies: hold a passport valid for the duration of stay and be able to show proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds if asked.
