🇦🇹奥地利(Austria)🇪🇷厄立特里亚(Eritrea)AT-ER 奥地利(Austria) 前往 厄立特里亚(Eritrea) 签证要求
Austrian (ordinary) passport holders need a visa to enter Eritrea. There is no eVisa and no visa-on-arrival. You must apply in advance at the Embassy of the State of Eritrea (the embassy in Berlin serves Austria), submitting the official B62.3 application form and supporting documents before you travel. Eritrea requires Austrian ordinary passport holders to obtain a tourist visa before arrival. As of 2026 there is no functioning eVisa portal and no visa-on-arrival for most travelers, so the visa must be secured through an Eritrean diplomatic mission. Austria has no Eritrean consulate; the Embassy of the State of Eritrea in Berlin is the competent mission for residents of Austria (the Eritrean consular network elsewhere handles applications via the standardized online B62.3 form, which is printed, signed and submitted with documents). The tourist visa is typically single-entry, valid for three months from issue, and permits a stay of about 30 days, extendable in-country through the immigration office in Asmara. The base visa fee is modest (around USD 50, plus consular/photo handling charges), but processing is slow, with a stated minimum of about 15 business days and often longer. Independent tourism is heavily restricted: most visitors travel with a registered Eritrean tour operator that provides supporting/invitation documents, and a separate travel permit from the Tourism Ministry in Asmara is required for nearly all destinations outside the capital (Massawa, Dahlak Archipelago, etc.). The Austrian Foreign Ministry (BMEIA) confirms "Visumpflicht: Ja" and advises against non-essential travel to many areas. Travelers should also be ready to show onward/return tickets and pay a departure tax at the airport.
