The Direction Generale de Migration (DGM) operates an official electronic visa system at evisa.gouv.cd. For tourism the standard product is the short-stay "visa volant" / tourist eVisa, single entry, allowing a maximum stay of 7 days and which must be used within 90 days of issue. Applicants create an account, upload a passport bio-page, photo and proof of accommodation (hotel booking or letter of invitation), and pay online; the DGM states applications are processed within 72 hours, though third-party agencies quote longer windows. On top of the visa fee, a mandatory USD 90 "Visa d'entree (VAP)" border-activation fee is collected at the airport, seaport or land crossing. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry and passports must be valid at least six months. Conservative travelers should apply well ahead of travel and confirm requirements with the DRC embassy accredited to Austria, as fees and conditions for the DRC change frequently.
