Austrian (ordinary passport) tourists need an Azerbaijan e-Visa (ASAN Visa). The e-Visa is a single-entry document allowing a stay of up to 30 days, valid for entry within 90 days of issue. The standard state fee is USD 20–25 (plus a small mandatory service fee), processed within three working days; an urgent option costs about USD 60 and is processed within three hours. Azerbaijan is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers should carry the printed e-Visa, ensure the passport is valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date, and only use the official government portal to avoid overpriced third-party agents. As of mid-2026 there is no visa-free or visa-waiver arrangement for Austrian tourists, so the e-Visa is mandatory.
