Argentine ordinary passport holders need a visa for Vietnam. The simplest route is the official Vietnam eVisa, applied online before travel, valid up to 90 days with single or multiple entry. There is no visa-free option for Argentina (only an 8-hour airside transit exemption). Argentina is not on Vietnam's visa-exemption list, so an ordinary Argentine passport holder cannot enter Vietnam visa-free for tourism. Since August 2023 Vietnam's eVisa has been extended to all nationalities and offers stays of up to 90 days with a choice of single or multiple entry, making it the recommended channel for Argentine travelers. The eVisa is applied for entirely online through the official government portal (evisa.gov.vn), costs USD 25 for single entry or USD 50 for multiple entry, and is normally processed in about 3-5 working days. Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months with two blank pages, upload a passport bio-page scan and a portrait photo, and specify their intended port of entry. The eVisa is accepted at all designated international airports, land borders and seaports. Vietnam is in Southeast Asia and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. A visa-on-arrival route also exists but requires a pre-arranged approval letter and is generally less convenient than the eVisa; an embassy sticker visa is the alternative for longer or non-tourist stays.
