Argentine ordinary passport holders need a visa for Timor-Leste, but it can be obtained on arrival (VOA) at Dili airport or seaport for USD 30, granting a single-entry stay of up to 30 days. Argentina is not on Timor-Leste's visa-exemption list, so a visa is required. However, Argentine ordinary passport holders qualify for a Tourist Visa on Arrival when entering by air at Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport (Dili) or by sea at the Dili Sea Port. The on-arrival visa costs USD 30, is single-entry, and authorizes a stay of up to 30 days, extendable once for a further 30 days (and up to a cumulative 90 days) through the Immigration Department in Dili. Travelers must hold a passport valid at least 6 months with a blank page, a return/onward ticket, accommodation details, and proof of sufficient funds. Important caveat: VOA is only available at the Dili air and sea ports. Argentine nationals entering overland from Indonesia must obtain a Visa Application Authorization in advance — only Indonesian, Portuguese and US citizens may apply at the land border. Timor-Leste has no general electronic visa platform, so payment is made in cash (USD) on arrival. Timor-Leste is in Southeast Asia and is not part of the Schengen area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
