Argentine (ordinary passport) travelers need an eVisa for Chad. Argentina is not on Chad's visa-exemption list, so an Argentine ordinary passport holder must obtain a visa before traveling for tourism. Chad launched its electronic visa system (evisa.td) on 11 December 2024 and made it mandatory for all foreign travelers from 11 May 2026, abolishing manual/paper entry authorizations for tourist and most other categories (only diplomatic and courtesy visas remain with diplomatic missions). The single-entry tourist eVisa is typically valid for about 30 days with a stay up to 30 days, at roughly USD 100-107 (the multiple-entry, 90-day option is around EUR 100). Processing is usually around 10 business days, so apply at least two to three weeks ahead. Required items include a passport valid at least 6 months with blank pages, a passport photo, a confirmed return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and proof of sufficient funds. Travelers must apply only through the official evisa.td portal; numerous third-party sites add markups. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is also commonly required for entry to Chad. Because the platform is primarily in French and has had reported technical/payment issues, allow extra time. Verdict: eVisa required.
