Argentine ordinary passport holders need an eVisa to enter Djibouti for tourism. Apply online before travel at the official portal evisa.gouv.dj; visa-on-arrival is not reliably available for ordinary passports. Djibouti is not visa-free for Argentine citizens. Since the eVisa system launched on 18 February 2018, holders of ordinary Argentine passports must obtain an electronic visa in advance through the official Government of Djibouti portal (evisa.gouv.dj). For a short tourist stay the relevant product is the short-stay eVisa (15-90 days), with a government visa fee of about USD 23 (a 14-day transit eVisa costs about USD 12). The eVisa is generally issued as a single-entry document and is approved electronically, typically within a few business days, with no embassy visit required. While a visa-on-arrival channel exists at Ambouli International Airport, Djibouti officially restricts it primarily to diplomatic, official and service passport holders, so ordinary travelers should treat the eVisa as the required route and obtain it before boarding. The passport must be valid at least six months beyond arrival and have at least two blank pages. Djibouti is in East Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
