Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit SK?
UAE ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Slovakia. They may enter the Schengen Area visa-free for tourism or short visits for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. Slovakia is a member of the Schengen Area, and the United Arab Emirates is on the EU's list of visa-exempt third countries (a visa-waiver agreement has been in force since 2015). As a result, Emirati ordinary passport holders can travel to Slovakia for tourism, business or family visits without a Schengen visa, staying up to 90 days in any 180-day period (a rolling calculation across ALL Schengen states combined, not just Slovakia). The passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date and issued within the previous 10 years. Border officers may still ask for proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, sufficient funds and travel medical insurance. Note the upcoming ETIAS travel authorisation: as of 31 May 2026 it is NOT yet in force. The EU expects ETIAS to go live around Q4 2026, with a transitional grace period meaning it will not become mandatory until 2027. Until then, no pre-travel authorisation is required. Once ETIAS is live and mandatory, Emirati travellers will need to obtain it (a low-cost online authorisation, roughly EUR 20) before boarding, but it is not a visa.
