Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit MG?

UAE ordinary passport holders need a visa for Madagascar — there is no visa-free entry. The easiest route is the online tourist eVisa (single entry, up to 90 days), and a visa on arrival is also available at Ivato and other international airports. Madagascar grants no visa-free access to UAE nationals (or to almost any nationality). Every tourist must obtain either an eVisa before travel or a visa on arrival at an international airport; only Burundi and Palestine nationals are barred from these channels. The official eService portal (evisamada-mg.com) issues a single-entry tourist eVisa covering stays of 15, 30, 60 or 90 days. Following a fee revision effective 16 February 2026, the 15-day band rose to roughly EUR 30 / USD 35, with longer bands scaling up to about USD 55–59 for 90 days. The eVisa is normally issued within 72 hours of payment validation, and applications can be lodged from roughly one week up to six months before departure. Visa on arrival remains available at Ivato (Antananarivo) and other international airports, paid in cash (Ariary, Euros or US Dollars), but it can mean 20–45 minutes of queuing on landing. For a smooth short tourist visit, the eVisa is the recommended option. Travellers need a passport valid at least six months beyond entry, proof of onward/return travel, and confirmed accommodation.
