Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit GT?

UAE ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Guatemala. They are classified in Guatemala's Category A and may enter visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days, valid across the CA-4 region (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua). As of May 2026, holders of an ordinary United Arab Emirates passport can travel to Guatemala for tourism without obtaining a visa in advance. Guatemala's Instituto Guatemalteco de Migración places the UAE in Category A (countries whose nationals need only a valid passport, no visa). Travelers receive a tourist permit on arrival allowing a stay of up to 90 days. Importantly, Guatemala participates in the Central America-4 (CA-4) Border Control Agreement with El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua, so the 90-day allowance is shared across all four countries and the clock starts at the first CA-4 entry stamp. Guatemala is in Central America, not the Schengen area, so no Schengen 90/180 rule or ETIAS requirement applies. Standard conditions apply: the passport should be valid for at least six months, and immigration officers may ask for proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds. There is no entry fee for visa-free tourist entry, though an airport departure tax may be bundled into airfare. Extensions of up to a further 90 days can be requested from the immigration authority once in the country. Because policies can change, travelers should reconfirm with the Embassy of Guatemala or the IGM shortly before departure.
