Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit GL?

UAE ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for a short tourist visit to Greenland and may stay up to 90 days. Greenland is a self-governing part of the Kingdom of Denmark but is NOT in the EU or the Schengen Area. It applies its own visa policy, which follows the same visa-exempt nationality list as Denmark (EU Regulation 2018/1806, Annex II). The United Arab Emirates is on that visa-exempt (Annex II) list, and the official Visit Greenland authority confirms UAE citizens are visa-exempt. As a result, an Emirati ordinary passport holder can travel to Greenland for tourism or a short visit without a visa for up to 90 days. Two important caveats: (1) a Schengen visa or Schengen entry is NOT valid for Greenland — Greenland requires its own clearance, but since UAE nationals are visa-exempt this is automatic on arrival; and (2) because Greenland is outside Schengen, the upcoming ETIAS travel authorisation (expected late 2026) does NOT apply to Greenland, even though it will apply when the same traveller visits mainland Denmark or the rest of Schengen. Most international travellers reach Greenland via Copenhagen (Denmark) or Reykjavik (Iceland), both Schengen — so the transit leg through Schengen will eventually need ETIAS even though Greenland itself does not. Travellers should carry a passport valid for the duration of stay, proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds.
