Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit CD?
A UAE ordinary passport holder needs a visa to enter the Democratic Republic of the Congo for tourism. There is no visa-free or genuine visa-on-arrival access. You must apply online for an eVisa (the airport/short-stay visa, "VAP") before you travel, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory on arrival. The DR Congo grants visa-free entry to ordinary passport holders of only six nations (Burundi, Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe). The United Arab Emirates is not on that list, so a UAE ordinary passport holder must obtain a visa before arrival. The DRC rolled out an electronic visa system (building on its existing online airport visa / Visa AeroPortuaire) that lets eligible travelers apply at the official government portal evisa.gouv.cd. For a short tourist trip the standard product is a 7-day single-entry eVisa: a fee is paid online (commonly cited around USD 300) plus an additional USD 90 settled at the point of entry, with processing typically within a few days to about two weeks depending on the channel. The eVisa/authorization must generally be used within about three months of issue. Note that several third-party agency sites describe a "7-day visa-free" stay for UAE nationals; this is misleading. The 7 days refers to the duration of the airport/eVisa product, not a visa exemption, and a fee and online application are still required. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for all travelers over 9 months of age, and the passport must be valid at least 6 months with blank pages. Because sources outside the official portal can be inconsistent, travelers should confirm current fees and document requirements on evisa.gouv.cd or with the nearest DRC diplomatic mission before booking.
