Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit BO?
As of 1 December 2025, UAE ordinary passport holders can enter Bolivia visa-free for tourism, staying up to 90 days within a 12-month period. No visa or visa-on-arrival fee is required, but travelers must complete the mandatory SIGEMIG online migratory pre-registration before arrival. Bolivia moved the United Arab Emirates into its Group 1 (visa-exempt) category effective 1 December 2025, alongside the United States, Israel, South Korea, South Africa, Bulgaria, Malta and Romania. This reversed the previous rule, under which Emiratis had to obtain a sticker visa in advance through a Bolivian embassy (Bolivia does not offer visa-on-arrival to UAE nationals). UAE ordinary passport holders can now visit Bolivia for tourism without a visa for up to 90 days per calendar year. Practical entry conditions still apply: a passport valid for at least six months, proof of onward or return travel and accommodation, and an International Certificate of Yellow Fever Vaccination if visiting tropical lowland regions (Beni, Pando, Santa Cruz and parts of other departments below ~2,300 m). Separately, since mid-2025 all foreign visitors must complete the SIGEMIG (Sistema de Gestion Migratoria) electronic pre-registration before arrival. Note this is a unilateral exemption by Bolivia; it is not a reciprocal waiver for Bolivian citizens entering the UAE.
