Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit BN?

UAE ordinary passport holders can enter Brunei visa-free for tourism and short visits of up to 30 days. No advance visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is required. Holders of ordinary United Arab Emirates passports do not need a visa to visit Brunei Darussalam for tourism or short business trips. Brunei has granted UAE nationals visa-free access since 11 October 2003, and the exemption currently allows a stay of up to 30 days per entry. On arrival at Brunei International Airport (Bandar Seri Begawan), travelers receive a free visit stamp after presenting a passport valid for at least six months with two blank pages, plus proof of onward/return travel and, if asked, evidence of accommodation and sufficient funds. There is no fee and no application process for eligible Emirati passport holders. Important distinction: this exemption applies to UAE citizens (Emirati passport holders), not to foreign nationals who merely reside in the UAE - residents holding other passports must check their own nationality's requirements and may need a visa in advance. Travelers should always reconfirm with the airline at check-in or the IATA Travel Centre before departure, as visa policies can change.
