Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit AL?

United Arab Emirates ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist visits to Albania. UAE nationals can enter visa-free and stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Albania grants visa-free entry to holders of an ordinary United Arab Emirates passport for tourism, business, and family visits. UAE nationals may enter Albania without any visa and stay for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. This exemption is established under Albanian Law No. 79/2021 "On Foreigners" and the implementing Council of Ministers Decision No. 858 (dated 29.12.2021, as amended), and it applies year-round (not just during a summer tourist season). No prior application, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is required: travelers simply present a valid passport at the border (typically Tirana International Airport "Nene Tereza"). To enter, the passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date and issued within the last ten years, with at least one blank page. Border officers may also ask for proof of onward or return travel, accommodation details (hotel booking or host invitation), and evidence of sufficient funds. Stays beyond 90 days in any 180-day window require a long-stay type "D" visa and/or a residence permit. Note: a separate, distinct rule lets certain UAE residence-permit holders (10-year Golden Visa holders) and holders of valid multiple-entry Schengen/US/UK visas enter visa-free regardless of nationality, but UAE citizens already qualify on the strength of their passport alone. Albania is NOT in the Schengen area and is not yet an EU member, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entering Albania; however, Albania independently uses an identical 90/180-day counting method for short stays. Albania is on the EU accession path, and EU/Schengen rules could change in future years.
