South Africa to Türkiye visa requirements

South African ordinary passport holders need a visa for Turkiye. For short tourism or business travel, the official online route is a one-month single-entry e-Visa from evisa.gov.tr; a three-month multiple-entry visa is available through Turkish representations abroad. South African ordinary passport holders are visa-required for Turkiye. The Turkish MFA's South Africa row says ordinary passport holders can obtain either a three-month multiple-entry visa from Turkish representations abroad or a one-month single-entry visa through the official e-Visa website, www.evisa.gov.tr. The e-Visa site also lists South Africa among e-Visa-eligible countries and states that e-Visas are for touristic and trade purposes only. For a normal short visitor trip, apply on the official portal before departure, use a valid payment card if the portal requests payment, and keep a paper or digital copy for travel. Official Turkish guidance requires a passport or travel document valid at least 60 days beyond the duration of the visa, e-Visa, visa exemption or residence permit; for a 30-day stay this means at least 90 days of validity at entry, although airlines and travelers often use a six-month buffer. The MFA fee table available online lists the South African Republic e-Visa fee as 'No fee' in an older document dated 10 November 2014, but the current e-Visa FAQ says fees vary by nationality and must be checked in the live application flow. Do not treat the e-Visa as a work, study or long-stay authorization, and do not apply Schengen or ETIAS rules to Turkiye because it runs its own visa regime.
