South Africa to Qatar visa requirements

South African ordinary passport holders do NOT need to apply for a visa in advance to visit Qatar for tourism. They receive free visa-free entry (visa waiver) on arrival, valid for an initial stay of 30 days, extendable once for a further 30 days. As of 2026, South Africa is on Qatar's visa-waiver list (the facility Qatar now calls "visa-free entry," formerly "visa on arrival"). An ordinary South African passport holder arriving for tourism is granted a free entry permit at the port of entry — no prior application, no fee. South Africa falls into Qatar's Category 2 group: an initial 30-day stay that can be extended once for an additional 30 days (up to 60 days total).
