South Africa to Jamaica visa requirements

South African ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist visits to Jamaica. They can enter visa-free for up to 180 days. You must complete the mandatory online C5 Immigration/Customs declaration via the Enter Jamaica portal before arrival and hold a return/onward ticket. South Africa is on Jamaica's most-favourable visa-exemption tier, so ordinary South African passport holders may enter Jamaica for tourism or business without any visa for a stay of up to 180 days (6 months). There is no eVisa, ETA or visa-on-arrival process to complete — entry is granted at the discretion of the immigration officer on arrival. However, every air and cruise passenger (regardless of nationality) must submit the online C5 Immigration & Customs Passenger Declaration through the official Enter Jamaica portal (enterjamaica.gov.jm), ideally within 72 hours before travel. Travelers should carry a passport valid for the duration of stay (six months' validity beyond the trip is the safest standard), proof of onward or return travel, proof of accommodation and sufficient funds. Jamaica is a Caribbean nation and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. If a stay longer than the period granted at the border is needed, an extension must be requested from the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) before the granted stay expires. This verdict was verified against the Wikipedia visa-policy summary, the official Visit Jamaica entry-requirements page and the Enter Jamaica / PICA portals as of 2026-05-30.
