South Africa to Honduras visa requirements

South African ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Honduras. They may enter visa-free for up to 90 days, which is shared across the four CA-4 countries (Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua). As of 2026, holders of an ordinary South Africa (ZA) passport can travel to Honduras (HN) for tourism without obtaining a visa in advance or on arrival. South Africa is on Honduras's visa-exemption list, granting a stay of up to 90 days. Critically, Honduras is a member of the Central America-4 (CA-4) Border Control Agreement together with Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua: the 90-day tourist allowance is a single, shared clock across all four countries, and it does NOT reset when you cross internal CA-4 borders. At immigration you must present a passport valid for the recommended six months beyond entry (Honduras's legal minimum is three months, but six months is the safe, widely-enforced standard), proof of onward or return travel, and be ready to show sufficient funds. Stays cannot be extended at the airport; remaining beyond 90 days requires a residence/extension application through the Instituto Nacional de Migración before the authorised period expires.
